by Elisha Sanders

According to economic figures released by the price supervision centre - a subsidiary of the National Development and Reform Commission - the price of vehicles manufactured in China has risen by 0.15% since March.

The figures released by the price supervision centre are based on sales from 36 of China’s largest to medium sized cities and points to a hike in prices on domestically manufactured vehicles by 1.05% from the end of last year, due mainly to rising prices of steel and energy.

The pinnacle measure of inflation in China, the consumer price index (CPI) rose by 8.3% for March, after it rose by 8.7% in February.

Prices for power, fuel, and raw materials have all increased by 9.8% so far this year, which is 5.7% higher than this time last year.

The prices on vehicles manufactured in the country have risen by 0.77% and 0.13% for January and February respectively.
