Railway revenue earnings up during 1- 10 July
by Ed RobertsIndian Railways has registered an increase of 21.49 per cent on originating basis during the period 1st July – 10th July 2008. It manage to earn Rs. 20.1418 billion ($503.5 million) , as compared to Rs. 16.5792 billion ($414.4 million) during the same period last year.
The total goods earnings reistered an increase of 22.32 per cent amounted to Rs13.5486 billion ($338.7 million) during 1st July – 10th July 2008, as compared to Rs 11.0761 billion ($276.9 million) during the same period last year.
The total passenger revenue earnings during the period 1st to 10th July 2008 registered an increase of 23.66 per cent amounted to Rs. 5.9427 billion ($148.55 million) as compared to Rs. 4.8058 billion ($120.1 million) during the same period last year.
The revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs. 472.9 million ($11.8 million) during this period compared to Rs. 443.1 million ($11.0 million) during the same period last year, showing an increase of 6.73 per cent.
